Adoption Requirements
How It Works
Age Requirement
Adopters must be 18 years or older
Valid Identification
A valid photo ID is required at the time of adoption
Housing Verification
If you rent
A copy of your lease with pet addendum, or
Your landlord’s contact information so we can confirm pet approval
If you own
Proof of ownership (deed or similar documentation)
If unavailable, we will verify ownership through a tax assessment check during your visit
Adoption Application & Approval
-
A completed adoption application is required
-
Applications are reviewed in the order received
-
Approval is based on compatibility, not speed
Adoption Deposit
-
A deposit is required in person to reserve an animal
-
Deposits place a temporary hold on the animal while adoption is finalized
-
Animals are not reserved based on application alone
First Come, First Served
Adoptions are processed on a first come, first served basis. Your adoption will proceed only after...
-
your adoption application is approved
-
your housing is verified
-
an adoption deposit is placed in person
Submitting an application online does not guarantee or reserve an animal.
Medical Care Before Adoption
Before going home, all adopted animals will be:
-
Spayed or neutered (if not already)
-
Up to date on vaccinations
-
Microchipped
Submitting an application online does not guarantee or reserve an animal.
